2358. Trepreau, A. Jan. 30. Overlap joints with inner pipe gripped by packing.-In an electric heater for liquids, a number of straight glass tubes through which the liquid is passed have their ends fitted in recesses 27 in the ends of screw-threaded sockets 26; a rubber sleeve, surrounding the glass tube in each socket, is compressed by a washer 29 and a screw collar 30 to make the joints tight. The sockets are connected in pairs by copper tubes 31.
