Breech action, hinged breech-block; firing- appliances applicable generally. - Relates to guns for shooting birds as they alight, of the kind comprising a vertical barrel, a head-piece arranged in line with the barrel, and triggermechanism operated by the head-piece when the bird alights thereon, and consists in operating the sear 51 by a falling weight 22 which is released when the bird alights on the headpiece 53.
