Covers for exposed seat bottoms and occupants' lower limbs.-A device for securing an apron d to the footboard b of an automobile and supporting it clear of the pedals c comprises two horizontal arms 1, 2 with side limbs 3, 4 connected together at right-angles to one another by side arms 7, 8 on plates 9 pivoted to vertical members of angle-pieces 13 secured to the footboard. The arms 1, 2 are preferably in two parts adjustable in sleeves 11 to suit vehicles of different widths. The apron is held in contact with the footboard by prongs 20 on the arm 1, which is maintained in position by springs 21 with ends 22, 25 bearing on the angle-pieces 13 and the members 3 respectively. The part 9 and the angle-piece may be provided with holes 26, which are in register when the apron is in use, and a padlock or a locking-pin may be inserted. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 5, a bolt 27 arranged in a recess 14<b> in the angle-plate is pressed into a recess 9<b> in the part 9<a> by a spring 28, and is released by a key inserted in a recess 14<c> and engaging the spindle 29 of the bolt.
