Abstract

21,123. Dubber, A. Sept. 10. Seat bottoms and backs.-The seating-surfaces a of benches, chairs, &c. are made of wire matting, made of interwoven coils having flat upper members and flat or curved lower members, Figs. 5 and 6, secured to a rigid frame, which is so bent that the matting assumes a convexity both longitudinally and transversely. The matting is secured to a stiff frame b, bent down in front so as to protect the back of the sitter's legs from sharp edges, and also at the sides as at c<1>. The back e may be similarly formed, and the bottom and back may also be formed in one piece.
