Abstract
2504. Barratt, A. A. Feb. 1. Face a n d features, improving appearance of. -Consists i n a n appliance for distending the nostrils to promote inspiration and to improve the shape of the nose, comprising a tubular portion a, hinged to which are members b, c carrying nostril clips d adjustable by means of the screws e. The outward pressure on the walls of the nostrils may be varied by altering the angle between the parts a and the members b, c. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which the hinged member b, b<1> telescopes into the part a and bears against a resilient pad b<=>. The part b may also be adjustable in the part a by means of a ratchet and spring pawl; or, as shown in Fig. 5, the members b, c may be attached to the part a by means of screw-threads of opposite direction so as to be adjustable by turning the part a.
