Abstract

28,322. Harting, H. Dec. 4. Yarns, beaming &c.-Slasher sizing, beaming. and like machines, of the kind in which pressure is placed' on the yarn as it is wound upon a flanged beam by means of reciprocating rollers which are worked up to the flanges of the beam by taper bowls supporting the pressure rollers, are provided with means for moving the pressure rollers away from the flanges of the beam as this fills, and for holding the rollers in the correct position when the yarn is wound above the flanges of the beam. The necks v, y, Fig. 1, of the pressure rollers d, c rest in forks of brackets w, z supported on rods x, l, Figs. 1 and 3, which are capable of longitudinal movement, and which have opposing teeth. These teeth are adapted to be engaged by a double pawl 6, which is operated, on the descent of the rollers, by a lever 5 pivoted to the rocking bracket p and having a bowl 7 engaging a slot or a cam-piece 8 on the presser box s. The movement of the presser rollers is limited by suitable stops.
