Concrete buildings, stud-and-slab type.-In a portable fireproof building, the walls are formed of base blocks a having upstanding parts a<3>, on which are mounted the blocks b forming the studding or pillars. All the blocks are grooved to receive slabs c, and the column blocks are locked together by running grouting into a central aperture b<3>, whence it spreads into enlargements b<4> at the joints. A lining of paper &c. may be fitted in the central aperture to facilitate separation. The pillars forming the stiles of the door and window frames may be similarly constructed.
