17,003. Charonnat, A. July 21. Fats and fatty oils, extracting.-The germs of wheat, barley, oats, &c. are freed from fatty matter without removal of the phosphates, as by solvents or pressure. The fats may be extracted by treating the germs with an equal weight of ether, draining, and repeating the treatment.
