Abstract

1158. Dehne, A. Jan. 16. Supporting a n d mounting bearings. -A combined step and guide bearing for the vertical shafts of centrifugal machines &c. is supported on springs which are capable of yielding both vertically and horizontally. A stepped ball-race 4 is surrounded by a sleeve 5 formed with several longitudinal grooves to receive springs 6, which are secured by a ring 7. The springs 6 are supported horizontally at their upper ends 6<a>, and laterally at their lower ends 6<c> in a cup-shaped sleeve 8.
