Abstract

23,311. Clark, W. E. May 22, 1908. Belt-forks, operating.-A belt is moved from. the fast to the loose pulley by means of a weighted lever which is released by an electrically-operated trip gear. A pivoted detent 3 carries the armature 2<a> of an electro-magnet 2 and engages the hinged arm 4<a> of a pivoted lever 4 ; this lever holds a pivoted and weighted lever 5 provided with stops 5<b> and a curved part 5<a> which releases a weighted lever 7 from a pivoted stop 6. The fall of the lever 7 actuates the belt-fork through a rope, chain, wire, or links. Stops 19, 20 are provided on the uprights 1. The lever 7 may be connected directly to the rope or the like or by means of a slotted link 9<a>.
