Abstract

22,609. Craig, W. J. Oct. 14. Electric railways on the overhead - conductor system. Collectors. -Trollies are constructed so as to have their adjusting-means located within and operable from the interior of the cars. The roof of the car 6 is provided with a rectangular aperture 7, above which is secured a plate 8 having a slot 9 formed therethrough. Mounted on this plate is a circular plate 10 having a recess 11 in which the pole 12 is pivoted. A rod 14, secured to the pole, passes through a hole in the recess 11 and through the slot 9 into the interior of the car. The trolly pole is retained in its raised position by a spring 16 surrounding the rod 14 and bearing on the plate 10. The trolly is reversed by moving the rod 14 along the guide-slot 9. A skylight 12 is provided in the car roof to enable the movements of the trolly to be seen.
