Abstract
13,369. Straubel, R. June 10. Telescopes.-To obtain parallelism i hinged d double telescopes between 'the optical axes of the two telescopes and the axis of the hinge, the hinge axis is obtained or rectified after the optical axes are fixed. For instance, if the axis of the bearings shown is not parallel to the optical axis of its corresponding single telescope, a bearing-rod is inserted which is so bored that the bore is parallel to the optical axis. Similarly for the rod forming the other part of the bearing. If concentric spherical bearing-surfaces are employed, the axis of the hinge should pass through the centre of the sphere.
