Abstract
6145. Willis, P. R. J., [Murchie, S. T.]. March 14. Mounting and securing collars on shafts.-A twopart clamp collar for a shaft consists of a part 6, Fig. 3, having a lateral flange 7 which carries two raised bosses 8, 9, Fig. 2, with grooves 10, Fig. 3, at their bases, and a cam-ring 13, Figs. 1, 2, and 5, with internal lips 14, 15 and internal cam surfaces x, y. The part 6 has a cut 11 so that, when the cam-ring is rotated, the surfaces x, y clamp the flange 7 securely on the shaft. The collar 6 may be divided along one side and hinged, or the cam-ring may be made in sections with hinge knuckles held by pins.
