Abstract

12,535. Rousseau, A. June 16. Inhalers.-An anµsthetic inhaler consists of a face-piece a, to which is connected a tube c, divided by a partition into two compartments d, e. A tube g, opening into the compartment e, serves to contain a glass tube h of a volatile liquid anµsthetic. A spring rod i may be pressed so as to break the tube h and allow the anµsthetic to run down into the compartment d. The tube c is provided with an exhaling valve f, and may be fitted with a valved cap m or with a bladder containing air. In a modification, two side tubes are provided, so that anµsthesia may be prolonged by breaking a second tube of anµsthetic.
