Arsenious acid.-Briquettes of arsenious acid, in a vitreous condition, are formed by submitting arsenious acid, either in pulverulent form or broken up into small pieces, and with or without the addition of a colouring matter or matters, such as orpiment or realgar, to a high pressure, with or without previous or simultaneous heating. The more .the temperature and pressure are raised, within certain limits, the more vitreous the product becomes. The acid may be charged into the mould through a heated inclined rotating cylinder.
