Abstract
16,057. Lefebvre, C. E. April 5, [date applied for under Sec. 103 of Patents &c. Act, A.D. 1883]. Filters ; cleansing ; heating ; settling. - Relates to oil filters, designed especially for waste lubricating-oil. The receiving and settling chamber B and the filtering and storing chamber C are separate, so that their contents may be removed independently. The vessel A in which they are contained has a cover b, in the middle of which open the lids c, c', the former overlapping the latter at c<2>. The funnel D and the filter E depend from flanges b<2> of the cover b. The funnel D reaches to near the bottom, of the chamber B, which contains water. At its upper end is a strainer e, and its lower end is surrounded by a steam coil F. The filter E comprises an imperforate upper and lower part, and a central part of wire gauze, over which cloth, held by hooks f<3>, is wrapped, and secured by cords lying in channels g'. The filter is secured by a wing nut to the valved pipe H connecting it to the chamber B, and can thus be easily removed for cleansing. Draw-off cocks and gauges are fitted to both chambers.
