Abstract
23,943. Raper, G. Nov. 14. Plastic compositions; wood substitutes.-A liquid is prepared by heating together 2 lbs. of glue, 4 quarts of milk, ¢ pint of saturated solution of alum, ¢ oz, of copperas, and water. 2 lbs. of flour and 4 ozs. of dextrin are mixed with cotton waste, leather dust, paper pulp, mahogany or other wood dust, wool scrap, or like material, and worked into a stiff paste with the liquid. The paste is moulded and dried, to form boot heels, substitutes for wood handles, or other articles. The proportions may be varied.
