Abstract
9855. Br³nler, O. April 29. Steam-generator furnaces.-The flame is kept in operation within the water and in the steam dome Fig. 1 shows a burner immersed in the water, and Fig. 2 a plan of the same with the igniting-tube arrangement. Compressed air mixed with gaseous, liquid, or powdered fuel is passed into the burner A by the pipe a. It traverses the slots f in the cylinder d, and emerges from the boiler by the mouth c. A portion of the burning gases can be conducted to the dome by the pipe g. For igniting purposes or for heating the burner A, the burner h of similar construction to the main burner is employed, the combustible mixture being passed in by the pipe i. The gases pass by the pipe m to the main burner.
