Abstract
10,317. Dyson, W. F. April 26. Stone, artificial ; cements ; plasters.-Clean sharp sand is saturated with a strong solution of ferrous sulphate, dried, and heated to a red heat in order to give it the characteristic colour of red sandstone. A small quantity of ferric oxide may be added to modify the tint. Sand so treated may be mixed with Portland or other cement, lime, &c., to form artificial stone, concrete, cement, or plaster precisely as ordinary sand is now employed.
