189,626. Sheridan, D. C., and Knop, R. A. C. Oct. 27, 1921. Bolts; nuts; locking nuts.-A quick action nut and bolt for use in shipbuilding, machine tools &c., comprises a bolt a having the threads cut away to form two or threes flat surfaces b, and a nut c with corresponding cut away portions to enable the nut to be slid into position and engage with the bolt on receiving a fraction of a turn. A back nut g is provided for making the final adjustment. The bolt a has a longitudinal groove f, and the nut c is provided with a set-screw e which locks it in position when advanced into the slot. A pin, slidably arranged in the grcove f and passing through an eyelet in the set-screw e, may be provided for locking.
