Fixed-chamber apparatus for semi-liquids; varying quantity measured in.-Apparatus specially adapted for dealing with thick fluids comprises a pump b supplying fluid from a reservoir a through a four-way cock c into one end g of a cylindrical measuring-chamber f having a liquid-tight piston i which is moved by the fluid pressure so as to force the content of the cylinder out of the end k and through the cock c into a delivery pipe. As soon as the piston reaches a stop x the pump ceases to operate and the cock is turned to put the end k into communication with the pump so that fluid is delivered from the end g until the piston reaches a stop v which is adjustable to vary the quantity delivered. The four-way cock may be replaced by two interconnected three-way cocks, and several such measuring-devices may be connected in parallel.
