Abstract
186,821. Lancaster, F. Sept. 23, 1921. Line floats.-A drifting float comprises a ball, cone, or other shaped, cork, rubber, metal, celluloid, or other float part A, provided with a brass or other tube B, having ferrules C, D at the ends of the part A and a hook G soldered to it near the bottom. A line E passes through the tube B and is attached to a sinker H and cast K adapted to be hung on the hook G. The float is allowed to drift with a slack line to the desired position when the line E is pulled, thereby tilting the float and allowing the sinker H to slide off the hook G and carry the baited cast to the bottom. A stop I is placed on the line a short distance above the sinker to allow sufficient slack in the line for the sinker to be released from the hook. Dimensions of the tube are given.
