Abstract

186,014. Hansen, H. G. March 30, 1922. Cans; bodies; bottoms.-A milk can is so formed as to be free from crevices in which dirt &c. can lodge and is also made so that it is not liable to break at the seams in the event of hard usage. The can comprises a base 5 having an annular groove 13 in the upper face of the flange 12; the lower edge of the body section 6 seats in this groove and is secured therein by solder. The upper edge of the body seats and is similarly fixed in an annular groove 15 on the underside of a hoop or ring piece 7, and the upper breast section 8 is secured in like manner in a groove 16 on the upper surface of this ring. A similar hoop 9 serves to connect the breast section to the neck 10, the latter being flared outwardly and formed with a wired rolled edge. The can has handles 11 and a dished cover 25.
