Abstract
183,740. Lea Valley Engineering Co., Ltd., and Ward, C. W. Sept. 2, 1921. Ice-cream and like freezers; ice-making, can or mould apparatits for.-An apparatus for making ice-blocks, and in which ice-creams &c. mav be made and subsequently preserved, comprises outer and inner containers 1, 2 with a vacuum or other insulating-medium between them. The inner vessel 2 contains a freezing-liquid in which a coil is immersed for the circulation of a refrigerant such as ammonia, sulphur dioxide, &c. and may be divided as shown in Fig. 1 into two inter-connecting compartments, or may be fitted with a number of vessels 17, Fig. 3, dipping into the cooling liquid. Moulds 6 are provided for making the ice, and ice-cream containers 10 are placed in the vessels 17, or in an air space 8 in one of the compartments in the construction shown in Fig. 1. Separate lids 14, 15, preferably hinged to the outer container 1, close the two compartments, Fig. 1, or fit over those portions of the inner tank containing the ice moulds and ice-cream vessels respectively so that access may be had to either set of vessels without loss of cold from the other vessels.
