183,099. Kearney, A. R., Taylor, C. W., and Leith, T. G. March 2, 1922. Belts.-In a driving-belt comprising driving- links A alternating with hooked coupling-links i, the side walls a of the driving-links A are connected by a transverse web k of rubber or other resilient material which coacts with the coupling links i and prevents accidental detachment. To disconnect one link from another, the link on the right in Fig. 8 is moved into the dotted position and on application of a force upwards and to the left the rubber web k is distorted and the coupling-link i unhooked. A projection m is provided on the contour of the coupling-link i to facilitate disconnection. The contour of the driving-links is preferably such that when coupling the rubber thereof is slightly compressed so that the coupling-link i snaps over its corresponding bush. The web k may or may not be integral with the side walls of the link and the metal frame may be of U, O cr other section. Specification 183,098 is referred to.
