Abstract

182,047. Wade, F. E. Oct. 12, 1921. Sparking-plugs; igniting in, -An auxiliary gap in series with the plug gap is obtained by connecting the current lead to an electrode 17 which is mounted in the insulating cap A and has its inner end within sparking distance of the outer end of the central conductor 18 of the plug. The cap A is threaded internally and is engaged by a bush 12 retained by a nut 10 on the outer end of the rod 18. Openings 19 maintain the chamber C in communication with the atmosphere.
