Abstract

181,893. Simpson, T. A. April 18, 1921. Covers for exposed seats and occupants.-A combined hood, cover-apron, and wind-screen for side-cars and the like is formed of waterproof material provided with longitudinal flexible metal side members 1, Fig. 1, the folds enclosing which are extended to form flaps 15 for securing side valences 20 by press fasteners 16. The hood has tubular end members 2, 3, Fig. 4, and transverse stiffeners, the member 3 being mounted in securing clips 10, while the member 2 is secured by strips 13 to spring clips 12 placed at two positions in the front of the side-car. In one position, the members 1 are arched to form a hood, and in the other thev lie flat to form an apron. A celluloid or like window 17 is provided. The back portion of the covering material mav be detachable to allow the screen to be laid flat when a passenger is seated.
