Abstract

181,372. Meyer, (dit Simon), A. S. June 11, 1921, [Convention date]. Bags.-A safety device for a hand-bag comprises a flexible strip provided at its ends with rings b, c, Fig. 2, and adapted to be held in the hand or to be suspended from the wrist, arm, or waist of the user. The bag is provided with two carrying chains &c. a, d, each passed through one of the rings and secured to the other; on lifting the bag the flexible strip closes on the hand &c. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the chains &c. of the bag may be attached directly to the rings b, c without each first passing through the other ring, and describes an alternative construction, Fig. 4, (Cancelled), in which the flexible strip rides by means of its ring on the carrying-chain, which is in one piece. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
