Abstract

178,236. Etherington, H. R. L. Jan. 29,1921. Sights.-Consists in forming the aperture of an orthoptic backsight by the intersection of vertical and horizontal slots 8, 7 formed respectively in horizontal and vertical slides 6, 5 mounted in a body part 1. The slides are operated by spiral cams 13, Fig. 5, formed in rotary cover-plates 9, 10 at the front and back of the body. The rotary plates are graduated, and are held in the adjusted position by spring clips 18. Slides having slots of different widths may be provided for varying the size and shape of the aperture. For longer ranges the body itself may be elevated and adjusted laterally by screws on the standard and base.
