Abstract

177,906. Wilson, F. Jan. 20, 1921. Post files; covers; locking-followers.-Arch files comprise a pair of flexible members 10, 11, Fig. 2, each wholly composed of helically coiled steel wire, one end of each member being secured to one of the covers, and a U-shaped wire 5 pivotally mounted on the other cover so that when the coiled portions are bent into arch form their open tubular ends can be engaged over the ends of the arms by the U-shaped hinged wire. The base-plate comprises a fixed member and a member 8 hinged thereto, the flexible arch portions being secured to the member 8 by tongued metal plates 12, Fig. 3. A holding-down plate 14 of known form is used for clamping the papers and for positioning the coiled members parallel with the base-plate.
