Tread bands, projections, and surfaces.-A non-skid device comprises a series of tread members supported on the wheel 1 by side chains 2, each member being formed by two curved base-plates 3 which extend laterally beyond the tread and support oblique bars 5 and longitudinal bars 6 all brazed or soldered together to form an openwork structure as shown.
