Locking nuts. - An elastic washer for use in locking nuts, comprises a strip of spring steel formed into a sinuous split ring having several contact points 3 on either side. The ends 1, 2 of the strip are on opposite sides of the middle plane of the washer. The corrugations may vary in depth, and are closely spaced.
