Dust caps for tyre valves. -A loose-fitting rubber or pliable dust cap for tyre valves is provided with gripping-means at the foot adapted to lock the cap automatically in position when manual expanding-means are released. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the gripping-means consist of a flat spring band b embedded in the material of the cap and provided with crossed manipulating-extensions e. In a modification, the ring is applied to the outside of the cap, and the inside of the cap is serrated or grooved. The flat spring may be thickened at the back or may be replaced by one or more coils of wire of circular section. The base of the cap may be provided with an extension to cover the rim nut and washer. In the form shown in Fig. 8 the cap is constructed entirely of elastic material and is manipulated by pressing together pairs of projections f.
