Printing-apparatus.-The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) includes, inter alia, (1) means for feeding kinematograph positive and_negative films so as to compensate for inequalities of the perforations and also (2) a claw feed mechanism. (1) In order to compensate for the inequalities of perforation distances from hole to hole, the films are fed over a loose sprocket 79, Figs. 19, 20 (Cancelled) in such a manner that the teeth 82 engage the upper edges of the perforations 83 in the negative film 3 and engage the lower edge of the perforations 84 in the positive 37. The feed sprocket 78 draws the negative film 3, whilst the positive film is drawn through a brake shoe 80, over the loose sprocket 79, and is loosely looped at 37 between the sprockets 79, 78. (2) In the claw feed device, the feed slide 92, Figs. 24 and 28 (Cancelled) is vertically reciprocated by a cam 89 on the rotating shaft 88. The feed pins 95 are moved into and out of engagement with the film 3 by an auxiliary slide 99 mounted on the slide 92 and a second cam 98 on the same shaft 88 which coacts with the faces 100, 101 of this slide 99, at the end of the up or down movement of the slide 92. The auxiliary slide 99 is formed with a forked end 102 which engages a cross-bar 97 on which the pins 95 are mounted. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also includes : (1) means for automatically changing the printing light for printing different sections of a negative film and forming the subject-matter of Specification 195,634; (2) means for continuously feeding the negative film and intermittently stopping the positive film so as to print a few pictures from each section of the negative film under different illuminations, and determine what exposure is required for the different sections of film; this matter is included in Specification 195,651: (3) means for locally stretching the film in the printing gate, and included in Specification 195,652.
