Bushes and linings.-Relates to bush castings. in which a liner of a different material is used and consists in using for the casting a metal which has a greater shrinkage in cooling than the liner, e.g. the casting may be of aluminium and the liner of steel. As shown in Fig. 1, the liner B has flanges C embedded in the casting. Or the liner may be grooved or perforated as in Fig. 2, or the casting may extend. over the edges of the liner. Any combination of these means may be used.
