Percussive hand tools.-The power piston a of a percussive tool is reciprocated by a vacuum and atmospheric pressure controlled by sleeve valves u, t arranged between the cylinder and an outer . casing divided into vacuum and atmospheric compartments n, m. The valves are actuated by tappets w, w<1>, v, v<1> and have ports u<1>, u<2>, t<1>, t<2> which register respectively with vacuum and atmospheric ports s, s', r, r'. At the end of the percussive tool is arranged a spring buffer x. The rising of the hammer block x<1> under suction is prevented by the ring x<2>.
