Abstract

170,134. Little, J. July 26, 1920. Impeller blades attached to rotating casing.- The plate 9 and the impeller blades 10 of a centrifugal purnp are carried by a part 2 of the casing which has a hollow extension 5 forming the inlet. The other portion 1 of the casing has a hollow extension 4 on the discharge side. The extensions 5, 4 are supported in bearings 7, 6, and the joints with the suction pipe 12 and delivery pipe 16 are rendered liquid-tight by rings 14, 15, 16, 17. The casing itself forms the pulley, which is rotated by a belt or other suitable means. A spider 20 is secured inside the delivery pipe 16 and supports a shaft 21 secured to a plate 22 with a flange 23 fitting outside the plate 9. The plate 22 is secured to a plate 24, which is curved to bear against the curved part of the delivery tube 4, and the plates 22, 24 form a diffusion chamber within the pulley.
