Abstract

168,966. Nottage, W. H. June 5, 1920. Telephone systems and apparatus.-In a system whereby signals received by wireless may be transmitted over line wires, or a wireless transmitter may be operated by signals received from line wires, a Wheatstone bridge has transformer windings in two adjacent arms, a telephone line E connected to the other winding of one of the transformers A, a wireless telephone receiver connected to two opposite junctions H, J, and a wireless telephone transmitter connected to the other two junctions K, L. The second transformer winding B is preferably exactly similar to the winding A; and an artificial line F with operator's set G may be employed to balance the line E. The arms C, D may contain variable condensers, adjustable non-inductive resistances, or inductances one of which is variable, with resistances in addition to balance the bridge. Resistances M, N and a condenser Q may join one diagonal, a point in which may be earthed. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 156,655, 158,536, and 160,820, [all in Class 40 (v), Wireless signalling &c.].
