Abstract

168,867. Kestner, P. Sept. 9, 1920, [Convention date]. Blast apparatus, injector.-Means for washing and displacing gases by induction by the projection of a cleansing liquid comprise one or more paddle-wheels 1, having radial blades 2, between which the liquid is introduced by one or more nozzles 6, the angle of dispersion of the spray being controlled by regulating the pressure of liquid in the feed pipe or pipes. Liquid is removed from the gas passage through the outlet 15. Several wheels may be mounted on the same shaft. The blades may be curved as shown or oppositely if the angle a is to be large; straight blades may also be used. Fig. 4 shows an arrangement to prevent corrosive gases coming into contact with the paddle-wheels. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the jet of spray from the paddle-wheel may pass between two sets of venetian blinds acting like the successive cones of a Koerting injector. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
