167,052. Knitters & Weavers, Ltd., and Codd L. B. June 16, 1920. Knitted fabrics. - Narrow bands for neckties, belts, girdles, &c. are produced on small circular machines such as the machine described in Specification 167,358, by laying one or more cross or filling yarns b from selvedge to selvedge inside the loops c of a warp fabric such as is made on the machine described in Specification 14461/11. A length of plain knitting suitable for the neck part of a knitted neck-tie is obtained by suspending the laying-in of the cross-thread, and if at the same time the reciprocating movement of the needle cylinder is suitably reduced, single strands d suitable for fringes &c. are produced in place of connected fabric.
