A second inclined tray d may be provided. The oil then collects in the base of the tank and is discharged by an upwardly projecting pipe g which is covered by a hood. Steam, which may be superheated, may be discharged into the oil through perforated pipes i. The vapours are removed through a dome e and pipes f.
