Copying-telegraphs.-The picture or writing to be transmitted by telegraph controls, by shortcircuiting arrangements described in Specification 105,914, the sending of current impulses corresponding with elements of the picture &c., and these currents are passed, at the receiving station, through the coil of an oscillograph causing it to perform corresponding oscillation. A mirror carried or moved by the coil directs light beams through a slot to produce, for each half-oscillation, one or more points on sensitized paper or other material to which rectilinear or other movement is given, so that a photographic reproduction of the elements of the picture &c. is obtained. Light from a source A passes through slots F and lenses D and is reflected by mirrors C on to a mirror carried at B by the oscillograph coil mounted between the poles of an electromagnet J. From this mirror the light is directed through a focusing- lens E and slot K on to sensitized material on a support G in a light-tight casing H. The support G receives rectilinear, rotary, or other movement. Arrangements are described whereby each halfswing of the mirror produces one, two, or four points on the sensitized material.
