Abstract

163,863. Ricardo, H. R. March 24, 1920. Pistons.-A piston head A is guided by slippers D, which are connected to the head by the gudgeon-pin C. The piston-head A is formed with parallel webs B carrying the gudgeon-pin bosses B<1> and the slippers D, which may be of unequal size, are connected by webs D', carrying bosses D<2> through which the gudgeon-pin also passes. Each end of the gudgeon-pin may be surrounded by a bush F common to a boss D<2> and a boss B<1>. The slippers may be of cast iron or of aluminium or aluminium alloy.
