Thermionic detectors; audible reception of unmodulated continuous waves.-In a receiving system for continuous waves, a valve 6 oscillating at an audible frequency affects the grid potential of a receiving-valve 10 in such a way that the positive peaks of the low-frequency oscillations just bring the valve 10 to the condition represented by the lower bend of its grid potentialanode current curve. The valve 10 thus only passes current due to the received continuous waves at intervals depending on the frequency to which the low frequency valve is tuned. 'In a modification, the receiving valve 10 has a fixed saturation point, and this point is used instead of the lower bend of the characteristic.
