Abstract
159,533. Vriendt, L. de, and Vriendt, L. de. Oct. 20, 1919. Indicators actuated by floats.- A liquid-level indicator which is immersed in a tank comprises an inclined spindle 19 pivoted in a casing 23 which is open to the tank at 25. The spindle carries one or more helical members 16, 17, 18, which are successively immersed as the liquid level rises. The change in buoyancy of the helical member causes a rotation of the spindle to an extent depending on the liquid level, the rotation being indicated by the pointer 21. In a modification, the spindle may carry a cylinder on the outside of which a number of separate bodies are arranged in a helical line.
