Stoppers and lids, catch, spring, and like. -A closure for bottles &c. comprises a lid a, Fig. 1, with a packing- disc b and having elastic metallic segments c co-operating with a metal ring d which is fixed to the neck of the bottle and into which the parts c are sprung. In a modification, the parts are stated to be disposed on the circumference of the bottle neck and on the lower edge of the cap a respectively. In another modification, Fig. 3, the neck e of the receptacle carries a wire ring g in a groove f, the lid h having a corresponding groove i or a shoulder.
