Abstract
159,140. Soc. Anon. Cingoli Brevetti Guerrini. Feb. 21, 1920, [Convention date]. Endless-track vehicles.-Relates to endless tracks of the kind consisting of a series of tread blocks mounted around the wheel periphery by a pin and slot connection so as to have freedom of movement relatively to the wheel, so that the block upon which the wheel bears at a given moment shall not be raised from the ground until the next block replaces it in its function. Specification 137,494 [Class 144 (i). Wheels for vehicles], is referred to. In one arrangement, Fig. 7, the blocks a have a pair of lugs a<1> lying on either side of the wheel rim and provided with triangular holes with rounded angles. Pins b<1> carried by the rim engage the holes to retain the blocks loosely in place. In a modification of this arrangement, a single central lug on each block is provided and enters a suitably shaped slot in the surface of the rim. In another arrangement, the triangular holes are fixed transversely in the rim b, Fig. 8, and the blocks a, Fig. 7, carry transverse pins a<2> between lugs a<1> engaging therewith. The blocks may be provided with pins a<3>, Fig. 10, standing up from the inner side and passing through radial holes in the rim.
