Abstract

158,705. Hudlass, F. W. Nov. 11, 1919. Spring devices.-A spring fork for motor and other bicycles, tricycles, motor-scooters, &c. consists of telescopic members 1, 8 and 5 carried respectively by the wheel axle 3 and the crown 6, control tension and compression springs 13, 14 being fitted between the crown and a cross-head 12 at the upper ends of the inner members 8. The members 5 telescope into short tubes 1, which are secured to the axle and at their closed lower ends are fixed by nuts 11 to the inner members 8. The tubes 1 serve as receptacles for lubricant. The axle is secured within lugs 2 on these tubes by cap-nuts 15.
