Abstract

154,171. Argus Motoren-Ges. Nov. 14, 1919, [Convention date]. Dash-boards. - The steering mechanism is mounted on and is removable as a unit with the dashboard. The inclination of the steering column may be adjustable. The dashboard 1 is provided with a bracket 15 to which the worm-gear casing 18 is adjustably secured by a cover-plate 7, the steering - column 19 passing through a slot 17. The dash-board is provided with side members 3 the feet of which serve for connexion to the frame or other part of the vehicle, an inclined foot-rest connecting the members 3. The column 19 is further secured in its adjusted position by a collar 21 which is secured to the foot-rest and embraces split ring 20 on the steering column; the collar 21 is formed with a screwed socket and nut for engaging the split ring 20. In another form the steering-column is rigidly mounted on the dash-board.
