Abstract

The rotor (2) contains a carrier cylinder (13) with superconductive coils (15), which is in each case connected at its two end faces to an end flange (3a and, respectively, 4a) mounted on a shaft section (3; 4). It should be possible to compensate easily for the shrinking of the carrier cylinder occurring during a cooling of the superconductive coils and, nevertheless, to keep the introduction of heat into the coils low. For this purpose, it is provided that the carrier cylinder (13) is mounted at one end flange (3a) via a radially arranged laminated annular plate (18) of thin annular-disc-shaped metal layers and rigidly at the other end flange (4a) via a connecting element (25), the effective length of connection of which is greater than its axial dimension. Such rotors can be provided, in particular, for high-power turbo generators. <IMAGE>
